I am boundless

The story behind the painting

The name is “I am boundless” but a longer version could have been “I am one and one is all and all is boundless”. I come from eternity and my story continues to eternity. I am human but also divine, expanding and connecting to the eternal force which connects us all.
The snake biting it’s own tail (the Ouroboro) is a ancient symbol present in many cultures. For exemple, it’s know as the oldest allegorical symbol in alchemy representing the concept of eternity and endless return, as well as the unity of time’s beginning and end. In Egypt it refers to the specific journeys of the sun and the recurrent floods of the Nile. For the Gnostics the opposing ends of the ouroboros were interpreted as the divine and earthly in man, which, despite being at odds with one another, existed in unison nonetheless.
So if we reflect on the boundless time, the cycles of life, the destruction and rebirth we find in nature and in our own lives. We might find that there is really no beginning and no end. No beginning of the end or end of the beginning. That we are boundless.
